CNPLE
Diagnosis of migraine is a pattern-recognition task with a safety gate. The NP characterizes attacks against ICHD-3 criteria, examines for secondary-headache clues, and then separates episodic from chronic disease and migraine from medication-overuse headache. Routine imaging does not confirm migraine; a new, abrupt, progressive, or otherwise atypical headache changes the priority to secondary-cause evaluation. Classification then drives treatment: treat the current attack early, limit acute-medication exposure, and consider prevention when frequency or disability warrants it.
