Clinical Framing
Headache is one of the most common NP presentations — yet missing a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), meningitis, or hypertensive emergency is catastrophic. The primary care NP's job is not to diagnose every secondary headache type but to reliably identify who is safe to manage outpatient and who requires immediate escalation.
