This lesson is scoped for RPN/LPN/PN. The learner role is to observe, administer prescribed IV fluids, monitor response, protect line safety, recognize complications, document accurately, and escalate promptly within practical-nursing scope. Practical nurses do not independently prescribe IV fluid type, rate, additives, or bolus therapy unless a local protocol explicitly authorizes the action. The safe exam frame is assessment, verification, administration safety, monitoring, and escalation.
