A mutation may release growth signals, disable DNA-damage checkpoints, prevent apoptosis, or help a clone recruit blood vessels and invade tissue. The resulting pattern determines what a biopsy must show, how extent is described, which treatment is reasonable, and which complications deserve immediate action. In hematology, the same logic applies even when a solid mass is absent: a molecularly abnormal blood-cell clone can be identified, measured, and treated with a targeted drug. Keep one chain in view: altered cellular control leads to abnormal behavior, abnormal behavior produces clinical findings, and treatment creates a second set of risks that requires deliberate nursing surveillance.
